Together with the barkeepers, waiters and waitresses, the Munich innkeepers entered the Theresienwiese fairgrounds clad in traditional Munich dress. They rode up on their beautifully adorned wagons, drawn by traditionally decorated horses. A feast for the eyes of the thousands of spectators thirsting for the first keg to be opened in the Schottenhammel Tent - the traditional start to the Oktoberfest. For just on a fortnight, life in the Bavarian capital revolves around the happenings at the Oktoberfest. And right there in the thick of it all was Spaten with its four festival tents: the Ochsenbraterei, the Schottenhammel, the Hippodrom and the Glöcklewirt.
